Looking For Info About Bookkeeping Outsourcing?Have you ever called a company's customer service with a question about something pertaining to an item you just purchased and ended up talking with someone who doesn't understand English? I know I have and I just found out why? Here I thought it was a foreign-speaking American. Not so, currently, all types of 'back office and non-critical operations' such as financial services, customer care, payroll, research, basic design, legal services and accounting are being outsourced to India to save costs. This is not only true in the above, but bookkeeping outsourcing is a standard practice in some of our American companies. It is bad enough our financial systems in American need a solution, but do we really need to undercut American workers purely on a financial decision? I don't see financial systems as 'non-critical operations'; they are very critical when making decisions regarding the operations of our companies. Hopefully, you don't think this is over-the-edge; but have you ever heard that some country will take ours over without ever firing a shot? Let's give them all of our financial information and pay them to take it! Anyhow, there are enough accounting and financial programs in Accpac alone to provide American companies with easy-to-use software to keep the work in he country and pay American workers. There are enough people out of work that need jobs who could fill these positions. The goal of these companies is to save costs. There are plenty of people in America happy to get a minimum wage job that I find it hard to believe these companies cannot find anyone in America both capable and eager to do this work for reasonable pay. Reasonable is better than nothing! I know, I have been unemployed and have struggled to find a job to support my daughter and myself. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to secure employment, and my daughter is currently enrolled in college. When I went to the Internet and did a search on bookkeeping outsourcing, it returned 'about 134,000' results. I selected the first one, entitled, A/P Outsourcing and decided to see where they are located. They have four offices; the corporate headquarters and "US Shared Service Center" is in Encino, California. They other three are out of the country. One is in Burnaby, British Columbia, which is the Canadian Shared Service Center. Another one is in Mumbai, India and it is an Information Technology Development Center; and, finally, the last one is in Nangambakkam, India. Only one of the three is in America and two of the remaining three are in India! Let's think about this America. |
